Editorial and writing coaching services: most of my editing in recent years has been for Midnight Sun Magazine – journalism, essays – but I also have a lot of experience with substantive and copy editing of fiction, poetry, and drama. While I enjoy one-off editorial assignments, I’m even more excited by providing ongoing writing coaching, which includes editorial feedback but also offers an opportunity to dig deeper together into the questions and desires that animate your writing, what specific kinds of impact you’d like it to have, and how to get there. My writing coaching rates are similar to psychotherapists’ rates. Make of that what you will.
Speaking services: I like thinking aloud in public. Recent speaking engagements include delivering the 2026 keynote Big Ideas in Literature Lecture at the Art Gallery of Guelph, co-presented by the gallery, the Musagetes Foundation, and Publication Studio Guelph; and sharing thoughts on the state of independent left media at a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Briarpatch Magazine in Toronto.
